About the studio

Designed with Intention

A small practice by choice. We take on only the work we can give our full attention to.

Our story

Every Home Begins With Listening

We draw by hand before we draw by computer. We build physical models of every project. We visit quarries, mills and workshops ourselves, because materials are chosen with the hands as much as the eyes.

The result is a home that feels inevitable, as if it could only ever have been built in that place, for those people.

How we work

From First Sketch to Move-In

Five phases, each with clear deliverables. Select one to see what happens and what you'll decide.

Design note: answering "what am I signing up for?"Most clients have never hired an architect. Laying out the standard phases, with time and involvement for each, sets expectations before the first meeting and makes the fee conversation easier.

The People Behind the Work

EMPortrait at launch

Elena Marchetti

Founding Principal, Architecture

Elena founded Atelier House after a decade designing residences on two continents. She still sketches the first plan of every house herself.

Julian Okafor

Principal, Interiors

Julian leads interiors and the studio's furniture practice, working with a small circle of makers on pieces designed for a single room.

Rooted in place

Every design starts with the site: the light, the land and the way the seasons move across it.

Built to last

Honest materials and careful detailing that look better with every year of use.

Deeply personal

No house style. Each home is shaped around the people who will live in it.

Design note: portraits, not stock facesPrincipals are shown as monograms until the real team is photographed. A stock face labeled with a fictional name would misrepresent a real person.
